Why Failure is Recommended

It seems like in today's world everyone wants immediate success, but they are afraid of failure. "Failure" or the other "f" word has long been a bad word. Since the beginning of time, we have been conditioned to believe that "failure is not an option." As children, our parents and teachers have taught us that failure is something to avoid at ALL cost.

The truth is in fact that failure is very important in our journey to success. But how can something that has been drilled into our heads to be the worst actually be necessary? Because it is inevitable. Failure simply means you've tried. It's that easy.

You have to understand that it is okay to fail. In fact, it is a MUST that you do fail. Forget what you have been taught about not failing. Forget it. The knowledge and the experience that you gain from failing, is invaluable. Use your failure as a tool, ask yourself some questions. What caused the failure? What can I do differently the next time?

Again, failure is a means of trying. Practice makes perfect, right? Well, how can one become the best if they have never tried..and failed. One of the best ways to measure your progress, is to measure your failures. There is also no magic number of failures. Perfect example, Thomas Edison, the guy who invented the light bulb. Well, he failed on the bulb 1,000 times. That's a lot. But look at his success once he got it right! Failure gives you the opportunity to start over, it gives you the opportunity for growth.

So, to wrap this up, failure is an option. Don't run from it. Embrace it and learn from it. Allow your failures and setbacks to grow you as a person, allow them to teach you about yourself. Failing is not the opposite of success, it is a part of success.
