An Interview with Judith J Pierre of Rock Collage
Judith Pierre owns and runs Rock Collage. What started out as a handmade jewelry business in her home, is now so much more. She now owns a store and provides multiple services such as Reiki, Womb Wellness (Yoni) steams. Herbal Detox Teas, Foot Detox, an oasis to create your own jewelry, and a fun hip environment to hang out.
What was your motivation to start your own business?
I started off Selling handmade Jewelry at work and from home on the side and a lot of the woman in the office were very receptive to it. Then I ventured out to street fairs and markets. The look on people faces when they leave my booth was more than rewarding. I didn't just provide a product, I helped with an emotional or physical ailment with m crystals.
Walk me through some of the first few steps you took to get where you are.
I did a lot of research and a lot of risk. I asked around and got the door slammed on me a few times, but I never stopped trying. I knew that "where there's a Will there's a Way"
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
Social Media audience. I don’t know what or how gauge an audience for a long time.
How did you overcome this challenge?
I
started considering more hashtags. Following a few of my peers and how
they gauged me and other followers and slowly but surely, I have started
to get more and more feedback. I was a quiet mouse hoping to gain an
audience over night, but I do see it takes work and time. Limiting my
self was causing me not to see what I've been able to see now.
A young person walks up asking your advice and only has a few minutes, what advice would you give them?
If you truly believe in your service and ability to communicate what it is that you do properly, you can succeed. Whether you have 1 follower (customer) or a million. If you are genuine to what it is that your providing nothing can hold you back!!
